The Chestnut Tree Tales are a series of illustrated children’s book created in support of Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex, which cares for 300 local children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive, life-shortening conditions. The first book in the series is called The Rainbow Snowstorm is available now:
The Tales were inspired by the Sussex landscape, and by one little girl called Elray who has grown up splashing along the coast, racing up the Downs and exploring the forests of this beautiful county.
The Rainbow Snowstorm is the first in a series of tales following Elray and her friends on adventures of discovery and wonder. These intrepid explorers have been brought to life by the much beloved illustrations of Algy Craig Hall, and the fine support of investors and publishing professionals who were touched by the magic of the Tales.
But the Tales wanted to do more than just tell stories, and so £1 from every book bought will be donated to Chestnut Tree House, which provides palliative care to children in Sussex with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.
The next tale in the series, The Flappity Happening, is getting ready for lift off in the summer of 2017.
